HOST AN EXCHANGE STUDENT THIS FALL!!!
These students would love to attend Ellsworth High School this coming school year! They speak English well, have their own medical insurance, as well as their own spending money to cover personal expenses. A volunteer host family simply puts another plate on the table and welcomes the student as one of their own!
I believe it’s important now, more than ever, to show our impressionable students that people from other countries are, in many ways, just like them! They may eat different foods and have different customs, but those differences can be quite fascinating and appealing! They can open your mind to new possibilities!
Please consider hosting one or two of our students below. ALL of them have their Visas in hand and have been assigned to our area! Please contact me if you are interested in one of these students or would like to see others. We also have students from Brazil, China, Thailand, Japan, S. Korea and Turkey. Become an international host today!
"I am incredibly excited to dive into the American culture, meet new people, and form lasting friendships. I am also eager to discover new hobbies, experience life in an American family, and learn more about your country. I am very open-minded and always excited to try new things."
Louis enjoys: camping, skiing, swimming, hiking, biking, geocaching, chess, cooking, gardening, and DIY projects. He is a certified lifeguard and has volunteered with youth camps.
"I think this experience will be the perfect opportunity for me to take my first steps in this journey of self-discovery. Living with your family will not only give me the chance to learn more about your culture, but also about what kind of person I want to become and the kind of life I want to lead. I’m excited to see how this experience will help me mature and gain more clarity about my future goals."
Alis enjoys: dogs, movies, family time, music, trying new food, watching football, traveling, basketball, tennis, dance, and volleyball. She is Italian and Romanian.
"I chose United States because I love the culture, the food, the sports, the cities... And I hope to learn everything with my American family. I would like to live in a family that likes to do outdoor activities, likes animals and I would also really like to have a sister."
Gala enjoys: skiing, volleyball, tennis, swimming, animals, reading, movies, playing instruments, cooking, board games, watching sports, and nature. She wants to work in the medical field someday, is also learning French and volunteers with children!
Date: Saturday, July 12th
Event Time: 9am - 3pm
Event Address: 9627 Lake Street, Ellsworth Michigan 49729
Join us for the Walk A Thon, a fundraising event supporting the Ellsworth/Central Lake Cross Country Team! This isn’t just for student athletes—the public is warmly invited to participate and walk for pledges, too. Our(and willing community members) athletes gather pledges from friends and family for every lap you complete—whether you’re walking or running. An official lap tracker table will keep count, so every step helps our team.
The day will be packed with more than just laps. Enjoy food, games and music. Feel free to check in and out as you wish—do a few laps, take a break, and jump back in whenever you’re ready. Whether you want to stay all afternoon or finish your laps in one go, you’re welcome to join in however suits you best.
Bring your energy, invite your friends, and help us make a difference—every lap supports our cross country team!
