The 10th grade class took a trip to Kirtland Community College today where they were able to learn about several programs they offer, to include Cardiac Sonography, Welding, Surgical Technician, Cosmetology and Engineering Technology.

Congratulations to the ECS winners of the Voice of Democracy essay contest announced at this morning’s Veteran’s Day Assembly. 1st place Evan Wallace, 2nd place Judith Veldboom, and 3rd place Christy Figueroa.

The Queen of Bling and Sparkle has been busy at Ellsworth Elementary this week. Students are able to redeem PBIS tickets they earn for following the Lancer Values to have a visit from the Queen! From there they have the privilege of being treated like royalty for the remainder of the school day! It is so much fun to see such big surprising smiles whenever she arrives to a classroom.

The ECS 3-5 grade students traveled to the Great Lake Center for the Arts for a performance of Dr. Kaboom and the Wheel of Science. Thanks to Mrs. Gee, Mr. Barry, and Mrs. Kiteley for taking the students.

Thanks to all the parents who attended last night’s math information night. We’d also like to thank the teachers who presented and Communities in Schools and Mrs. Sponable for helping to organize the event.

The roof is on! Great progress being made on the ECS Construction Trades house. Should be “dried in” before the weather really turns cold. Great job Mr. Cary and students.

As part of their annual essay contest, the Antrim County Conservation District presented on three issues facing Antrim County: lakeshore flooding, invasive species, and dumping trash at recycling sites. Students can win $350 writing about solutions to these issues.
