The kindergarten and first grade classes enjoyed a visit from Officer Travis Chellis on Friday. He talked about the role of police officers and how they help others.

This weekend the Cybertronic Lancers participated in the "Robot Show-n-Tell" session of RoboCom 2018 at Petoskey High School. They discussed the design process and building of the robot from last season's competition as well as plans for improvements in the upcoming season.

The Giving Tree is located in the gym lobby. Take an ornament home and purchase a much needed baby or toddler item for our local Moms & Tots Center of Ellsworth. Return the gift to the Giving Tree by December 17th and the National Honor Society will turn the gifts into the center in time for the Christmas season!


New team chairs arrived just in time for the first home varsity basketball games of the season. Thanks to the Ellsworth Boosters and Board of Education for their support.


Student Council and NHS would like to thank everyone that participated in Operation Birthday! Grades K-12 were able to collect 359 birthday items to donate to local service agencies.

ECS Alumni Jesus Oviedo made a visit home from his deployment with the United States Marines and stopped by school to surprise his nieces and nephews.

First graders had fun conducting their pumpkin STEM activities on Friday. They measured the weight of their pumpkins, counted the seeds, and tested their hypotheses about whether or not pumpkins can float.


Mrs. Stuck joined the English 12 classroom to do a Book Talk on one of her favorite historical fiction reads. Book Talks are a way for students learn what others like to read and helps expand their knowledge of book options and genres. Students can then check out the book or put it on their "Might Like to Read" list.
