Delilah Paige Boss, daughter of Elias J. Boss and Heather L. Baker, is a creative member of the graduating class of 2024 at ECS. A skilled guitarist and aspiring artist, Delilah spends countless hours immersed in her craft, channeling her creativity into melodies and visual expressions. Her passion for music serves as a source of inspiration and solace, guiding her through both joyous and challenging moments.
Delilah is often found enjoying moments of camaraderie with her friends, embracing the spontaneity of youth with unbridled enthusiasm.Despite her tendency to procrastinate, Delilah finds solace and inspiration in the classroom, particularly in her English class with Mrs. Terryberry. Despite the challenges, Delilah values the sense of community and encouragement fostered within the classroom, making each day worth the effort.
Delilah's journey through high school has been marked by moments of growth and self-discovery. Serving as the homecoming representative for her senior year, she embraced the opportunity to connect with her peers and contribute to the spirit of the school community.

Evan M. Rapin, son of Jason and Mona Rapin, is an astute member of the graduating class of 2024 at ECS. A passionate enthusiast of computer programming, software engineering, and reverse engineering, Evan's interests extend beyond the digital realm. He finds joy in the immersive world of video games and has honed his skills as a formidable player. Notably, Evan has demonstrated exceptional leadership as a Team Captain at Quiz Bowl, showcasing his prowess in quick thinking and strategic acumen.
In the academic arena, Evan's favorite class at ECS is Chemistry. He finds the subject both enjoyable and manageable, appreciating its relaxed atmosphere. His academic achievements are further underscored by his impressive SAT score of 1390, a testament to his dedication and aptitude.
As he embarks on the next chapter of his journey, Evan's aspirations remain firmly grounded in his passion for technology. He harbors ambitions to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Ferris State University.

Danae Pauline VanderSlik, daughter of Jody and Keith VanderSlik, stands out as a determined member of the graduating class of 2024 at Ellsworth Community Schools.
Danae's pursuits span a wide spectrum, from her participation in sports like softball and basketball to her intellectual engagement in activities like Model UN. Amidst her athletic and academic endeavors, she finds joy in hobbies such as reading, studying, working, art, and spending quality time with friends, weaving a rich tapestry of experiences and connections.
One of Danae's most cherished memories involves an unforgettable outing to Screams in the Dark, where she and her friends immersed themselves in the thrills of haunted attractions. Despite the long waits and drives, the experience brought them closer together, fostering lasting bonds and unforgettable laughter.
Beyond her achievements and adventures, Danae is most proud of finding inner peace. Through self-reflection and determination, she has cultivated a healthy mental state, prioritizing her well-being and letting go of toxic influences. This journey towards self-discovery has empowered her to embrace life's challenges with grace and resilience.
As Danae prepares to embark on the next chapter of her academic journey, she does so with a clear vision and unwavering determination. With plans to pursue her associate's degree at North Central Michigan College and subsequently earn her bachelor's degree at Saginaw Valley State University before venturing into law school, Danae's ambition knows no bounds.

Class of 2024 Senior Spotlights
Jaqualtress Rose Gibson, daughter of Stephanie Gibson, is a nature-loving member of the class of 2024. In her spare time, Jaque enjoys reading, crocheting, baking, gardening, and playing video games. During high school Jaque has been a member of the Ellsworth FFA. She has represented ECS on the Softball Field and the Volleyball Court.
One of Jaque’s favorite memories is when the softball team won against Central Lake in the district finals. Her favorite class at Ellsworth is Agricultural Science. She started taking Agri-science her sophomore year and fell in love with the class. She attributes this love to Mrs. Cole because she made it fascinating and fun. She was surprised that she found herself eager to get her hands dirty in the garden.
Jaque is most proud of being elected FFA President by her class. After graduation, Jaque plans to attend Northern Michigan University.

Class of 2024 Senior Spotlights
Brianna Rose Wiltse, daughter of April Wiltse and Bryon Bermodes, is a spunky member of the class of 2024. When she is not at school Bree likes to spend time raising chickens and farming. In addition to this she likes to paint, ride four wheelers, play video games, read, go thrifting, and sing car karaoke.
Bree is a member of the ECS Chapter of the FFA, in yearbook, and is an active member of the Bible Baptist Church. Bree has spent time on the ECS stage in many productions including the role of Zazu in the Lion King.One of her best memories from high school is traveling to the State FFA Convention with Jaque and others. She recalls eating a bunch of food and that Mrs. Potter couldn’t eat Takoyaki. Her favorite subject in school is German because it’s a fun language to learn and she loves how it sounds.
After graduation, Brianna plans to travel as well as working on a farm with chickens.

Class of 2024 Senior Spotlights
Tyler Bert DeYoung, son of Faith and Jeremy DeYoung, is the salutatorian of the class of 2024. Tyler likes to spend his free time running, biking, hunting, fishing, and hiking. During high school Tyler has participated in cross country, basketball, track & field, and baseball. In addition to this, Tyler is a member of the National Honor Society.
Tyler's favorite memory of high school is having Lancer Leap with Mrs. Alfred. Tyler finds Science to be his favored subject in school because it is the most interesting and engaging. Tyler is most proud that he qualified for State Finals in Cross Country three years in a row.
After graduation, Tyler plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University. He intends to study Kinesiology. Then he will attend the University of Western States to obtain a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

Class of 2024 Senior Spotlights
Madelynn Jean Zipp, daughter of Carolyn Zipp, is an expressive member of the class of 2024. When she is not at school Maddie likes to spend time shopping, painting, hanging out with friends, reading, and playing volleyball.
Maddie’s best memories from high school are all the memories made with friends. She is a member of the ECS Chapter of the FFA, and played on the softball & volleyball teams. Maddie’s favorite subject in school is Agriscience because she really enjoys learning about the subject, all of the opportunities she was able to take part in, and the hands-on activities. Maddie is most proud of being accepted to multiple colleges.
After graduation, Maddie plans to go to Ferris State University to study Dental Hygiene.

Class of 2024 Senior Spotlights
Jürgen Franz Griswold, son of Roberta and Mark Griswold, is the Valedictorian of the class of 2024. In his free time Jürgen likes to spend time golfing, skiing, reading, playing sports & music, and watching movies. During high school Jürgen has participated in cross country, football, basketball, track & field, and baseball. Jürgen is also a member of SAFE in Northern Michigan, on the Youth Advisory Council, in National Honors Society, a member of the ECS FFA, on the Quiz Bowl team, on the Robotics team, a board member of the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation, involved in the NHS Behavioral Health Initiative, and a part of ECS Model United Nations.
Jürgen’s favorite memory of high school is winning the baseball district in 2021 and dumping a cooler of water on coach Cooper. His favorite subject is English because he loves to read, write, and tell stories. He attributes this to his middle school English teacher Mr. Dziadosz. He is most proud of the community service work that he has completed. His contributions include serving as a board member on the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation.
After graduation, Jürgen will be attending Tulane University in New Orleans as an Honors Scholar.

Class of 2024 Senior Spotlights
Patrick Walter Puroll, son of Suzy Olsen and Rob Puroll, is a driven member of the class of 2024. Patrick likes to spend his free time hunting, fishing, enjoying the outdoors, playing sports, and hanging out with the guys. During high school Patrick has participated in cross country, football, basketball, track & field, and baseball. In addition to this, Patrick participates in SAFE in Northern Michigan, is on the Youth Advisory Council, in the National Honors Society, a Captain on the Quiz Bowl team, on the Robotics team, a Solo & Ensemble competitor, Vice-President of Student Council, and a part of ECS Model United Nations.
Patrick's favorite memory of high school is golfing with the Goonies. Patrick’s favorite subject at ECS is either Physics or Chemistry because they both use his second favorite subject, Math. He enjoys them because they are practical and easy. Patrick is most proud to have assisted 3 Ellsworth 1000 point scorers throughout his basketball career. Furthermore, he led all of Northern Michigan in assists last year and made the MHSAA record book for steals in a career with the 10th most of all time.
After graduation, Patrick plans to attend the University of Michigan. He's currently exploring his options for a major, eager to discover the perfect fit.

Our ECS Middle School Awards Assembly will take place on Monday, May 6 at 8:30am. Senior Decision Day will also take place during the assembly and we will celebrate the post high school plans of our 12th grade students! Join us for a home baseball or softball game and the MS/HS Band Concert this week! Boater's Safety is offered through the Antrim County Sheriff's Department and held at the MS/HS on Saturday (pre-registration required).


Reminder! Thursday, March 14 and Friday, March 15 are 1/2 days with dismissal at 11am. No lunch will be served.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, March 14 from noon-3:00 and 4:00-7:00pm. Elementary conferences are scheduled in advance and take place in individual teacher's classrooms and Middle/High conferences (grades 6-12) are not pre-scheduled and take place in the Middle/High School Cafeteria and Library.
Please check the lost-and-found when you come to conferences as items will be removed and donated over Spring Break. Thank you!

The ECS Band Program would like to welcome back any band alumni and invite community members to play in the pep band for Homecoming on February 2nd. Middle/High School students have an "A" Day and will begin with first hour, and then they will receive our roll out for LANCER LEAP! Seniors will still have their first hour class and then a scholarship and post high school information session.

Join us on Thursday, December 14 for our annual Elementary Christmas Program! Preschool through 5th Grade students will perform for the community, along with ECS participants in the Dorothy Gerber Strings Program! Students should arrive by 5:20 and sit with their teachers, the program will start at 5:30pm. See you then!
